About Durga:
Dr. Satapathy currently serves as Director of Technology Innovation & Architecture at Sprint with responsibility for radio networks systems (LTE & 5G) and support of related standards, regulatory and global ecosystem activities.  Dr. Satapathy has over 20 years’ experience with Sprint and Clearwire combined, leading access and backhaul research and orchestrating key proof of concepts.  His recent contributions are bringing Sprint to the forefront in massive MIMO and 5G, and conducting fixed wireless access analysis. Dr. Satapathy holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh.  His thesis addressed resource utilization of unlicensed spectrum with spectrum etiquettes.  He is an IEEE Senior Member and his portfolio includes 59 USPTO patent awards and various IEEE publications.   He has served as Chairman, IEEE 802.16 WiMAX Standards Task Group 4, and participated in 3GPP LTE standards development.  His serves as Industry Consortium Member for Platforms for Advanced Wireless Research (PAWR) project, Industry Forum  Exhibitions Program Chair for ICC2018, Panel Reviewer for NSF projects, Wireless Advisory Board Member of Auburn University, Industry Community Board Member for IEEE COMSOC, NYU Wireless Industry Affiliates Board Member, etc.  Further details are available at
