Monica Visinsky graduated with a B.S. in EE and B.A in Computer Science in ’90, a M.S. in EE in ’92, and a PhD in EE in ’94, all from Rice University. After a brief sojourn into the oil industry, she started working at Oceaneering Space Systems in 1996 in support of Space Station robotics. She has tested space station components and experiments for compatibility with the Space Station maintenance robot – the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator (SPDM) and supported the engineering back room for mission control for a variety of robotic operations from space station assembly and cargo delivery missions to repairs of space station components and specialized experiment operations.
