Intrepreneurship: Being an Entrepreneur within a Large Corporation

Taking on the role of an entrepreneur within a large corporation is not an easy as it appears. The talk will present the history of the team of TI employees who took on the Digital Signal Processor opportunity form its concept to its success. In additions to stories about their efforts, observations will be presented of the good and bad of driving innovation in a successful technology company.

Gene Frantz joined the ECE Department after spending 39 years at Texas Instruments. He received his BSEE from the University of Central Florida in 1971, MSEE from Southern Methodist University in 1977, and MBA from Texas Tech University – Rawls College of Business in 1982.
