Best Ph.D. Presenter Award – Apply here

The Best Ph.D. Presenter Award recognizes students in electrical and computer engineering who excel in the presentation and explanation of their original research. Eligible students are judged on the quality of their research, their engagement of the audience, and their ability to communicate complex information efficiently and simply. The winner(s) of this award receive a cash prize, as well as the opportunity to present their research at ECE Corporate Affiliates Day. Students are permitted to nominate themselves as well as their peers.

Requirements:
¬ Applicants must be students in ECE or Applied Physics in ECE, and;
¬ have successfully completed their Ph.D. Proposal before the award application deadline, OR;
¬ if an Applied Physics student must be within a year of defending their Ph.D., and;
¬ must be able to give a 10-minute presentation to a faculty committee, and;
¬ if a winner, must be present on campus to present at Affiliates Day (March 29, 2019).

This award seeks to acknowledge ECE student superstars who demonstrate dedication and commitment to the ECE community through:

¬ Contributions to Events/Publicity
¬ Exceptional Grading/TA
¬ Overall Departmental Support
¬ Developing Community Spirit
¬ Exceptional Leadership

Nominations may come from faculty, staff and students, and include a brief statement of service and a student CV.

Student Poster Competition – Submit to present here

At each Corporate Affiliates Day, Rice students of all backgrounds and majors are invited to participate in a student poster session. The best undergraduate and graduate winners in the categories of: Poster; Demo; Senior Design are awarded cash prizes.
